Gucci Mane Joins T-Pain on “Might Be”

Singer-songwriter T-Pain joins forces with Gucci Mane for his latest single “Might Be.” The trap beat has the King of Auto-Tune rapping that he might just be the man his future wifey is looking for. I promise you ain't met a real one like me / Girl, I think I might let you be my wifey / Put some diamonds on your neck, girl have you icy / Or I might just spend a check, I'm still deciding / Bitch, I might be Gucci steps in and adds some of his East Atlanta fair on the song's second verse. I done got rich, but I'm trying to be wealthy / Wrist so healthy, watch so chunky / I'm getting cocky, bright wrist yachty / Niggas be blocking, never really like me / Heard he want to fight me, I'm not Rocky

Jazz Man Is A Genius Rap Track Off JSBxGHOUL‘s EP

“Jazz Man” is a vivid contrast to the heavy trap that populates the charts of today’s rap mainstream, but at the same time is exactly what older hip-hop rap fans have been begging for years now. Off the EP “Before I Get Busy”, “Jazz Man” is a genius rap track that combines a smooth funky flowing beat with enlightened lyrics that no rap fan can deny. The message the song carries is one truly positive and inspiring, with undertones of the usual rapper’s perspective, that creates a fair balance of both worlds that is reflected in the superb lyricism. Coupled with the superb production work of Jordeaux, JSBxGHOUL’s masterpiece is truly deserving of more praise, but I believe it’s only a matter o

Aretha Franklin: The Icon, The Diva, The QUEEN OF SOUL

Today, the music world mourns the loss of the soulfully iconic Aretha Franklin. She was born on March 25, 1942, in  Memphis, Tennessee. It is often said that Aretha was born with soul in her veins as her father, C. L., was a gospel singer in the Baptist church who was known nationwide as “The Man with the Million-Dollar Voice.” C.L did Aretha and the rest of her siblings one better when he moved the family in 1944 to center of the music, Detroit, Michigan. As a child, Aretha taught herself how to play piano by watching her father and other musicians in her church. Aretha then began singing with her sisters in the church choir. Aretha gained her hard work ethic with music from her father as s

Barbie Dreams: She’s just playing...but what is she really saying?

The self deemed queen of rap, Nicki Minaj, just dropped her long awaited album Queen. It is no secret that leading up to this album, Nicki has faced a lot of scrutiny for her lack of material and quality lyrics on her features thus far. However, on the third track of “Queen”, Nicki unleashed the beast, giving back the same energy the naysayers claim she lost over the years. She names this cover of Notorious BIG's "Just Playin", “Barbie Dreams”. In this song, Nicki takes shots at Drake, 50 cent, 6ix9ine and a plethora of other male rappers she has encountered. She even took a shot at her ex Meek Mill as she states in the first verse, “Meek still be in my DM’s I be having to duck em, I used t

Rappers YG and Travis Scott released some new music this past Friday, and now DJ Mustard has linked up with the two to bring us "Dangerous World." The title of the song is named after both artists' projects - YG's Stay Dangerous and Scott's ASTROWORLD. Mustard's latest bass-heavy banger mashes up YG's West Coast flow with Travis' trippy sound, as heard on the chorus. Krispy Kreme whip and the wheels glazed, yeah / When you move at night, you don't feel shade (yah) / Runnin' through the field, it's a field day / Yeah, let her bang the set at the hood date / She gon' bust down if the beat good (yah) / She gon' roll up, bring the Backwoods (it's lit) DJ Mustard produced nearly half of the track
